My School

Oxford University is made up of 40 something-ish individual colleges, the most awesome of which is mine, Christ Church College. Its where they filmed a bunch of scenes in Harry Potter. Note the Potter-esque dining hall, and the fact that I GO TO SCHOOL IN A CASTLE. Here it is.

Post Arrival

American counter-imperialism, or the quaintest McDonald's I've ever encountered

Aaaaand a red telephone booth, because its cliche and because Alex wanted me to take a picture of one.

The pictures are boring so far, I know, but I'm here for like three months so chill out.

Departing

Oxford Lauren being sleepy and ready to fly.

A view of the runways at Newark... It looked cool at the time but my camera's not very good.

Eyjafjallajökull

As you may have heard, this
forced the British government to stop all flights into and out of the country. Luckily, I was on one of the last flights allowed in. I'm waiting to see this:
But I'm optimistic it won't work that way. I'm trying to figure out how to upload my photos from my camera but not having much success... The next post will have actual photos of the trip, I promise.

Dread

Its about 12:30 on April 14th, 2010. In eighteen-ish hours I'll be leaving for Oxford University, where I'll be studying until June 24th. If anything interesting happens, I'll write about it and/or take a picture. Unfortunately, I'm a terrible writer and I can barely work a camera. But at least its slightly less boring than a photobucket account.

Anyway, I'm super nervous right now, as is illustrated here:
